review // hair // waist length senegalese
6:15 PMit's been over a year since the last time i had senegalese twist. if i would have known that my 1 week review would be deeply viewed, i would have done a better job on my video & post. but what's done is done, & we can only grow from there.
this time i had a new stylist, a member of my women's group. she posted that she was having a special on twist & braids & immediately i contacted her about prices. i have been wanting twist ever since i took my last installment out. however, my last stylist has been busy with school & work.
the 411 on this installment:
- hair (kanekalon): 3 packs of afrelle ($4.99 ea/84") and 1 pack of x-pression ($4.99 ea/84")
- color: 1
- size: large
- length: waist line
- murray's pure australian beeswax (tan not black b/c the black may get on your clothes)
- pink hair moisturizer & sleek and shine leave-in lotion (these were mixed together then applied to my hair before adding the weave)
- black ampro gel (she used this to seal the twist)
- boiling pot of water + towel (this seals the gel & twist)
- moisturizer to condition your scalp (i'm using sulfur 8).
- oil (argon, macadamia) or oil sheen spray for shine.
- tea tree oil or any product that reduces build up.
- dry shampoo to clean your hair/scalp since you really can't wash this type of style often (may cause unraveling).
- organix tea tree shampoo & conditioner or organix australian tea tree shampoo & conditioner.
- gel or jam to help your edges remain tamed.
- hair wraps/bonnet to keep your hair looking fresh daily.
- if you do get your hair wet, dry it with a t-shirt.
- as a protective style for those transitioning from relaxed to natural.
- a protective style for relaxed or natural hair women.
- for those who are great with keeping their hair healthy.
- for those wanted their hair to grow longer.
** my hair currently at 2 weeks. it's growing fast.
**took me about 7 minutes to get all of my hair on top of my head. lol.
