♡ -- My view:

I purchased this book sometime in 2010 and began reading it December of that year. But because of my oh so busy schedule at the time, I didn't finish it until April of 2012 (yeah, I know. Really sad). But it's such a phenomenal read. As soon as you start reading, you won't want to put the book down. This was my favorite book to read during flights and especially before bed. I'd tell myself that I'd go to bed at one time, but ended up going at a later time because I couldn't put the book down.

This book is definitely surrounding the life of the modern day teen. It really gets into the head of how teens think and even some of the things they do when no one is around. It touches on high school drama, friendship, puppy love, family and maturity. At the end of each chapter I would predict what might happen in the next. I felt as if I was in high school again while reading this, and it made me think of the times I thought I'd never miss. I have to say this book is very realistic and up to date as to how teens function today.

Naylor will write a total of 28 books for the Alice series, and each book will hit the shelves once a year in May. I can't wait to read the others!

I enjoyed every moment of this book!

♡ -- Overview:
Find a Penny pick it up and all day long you’ll have good luck…except, of course, if that Penny is charming and pretty and funny, and the person picking her up just happens to be your boyfriend. Alice McKinley’s freshman year is not as “lucky” as she was hoping it would be. But she’s is trying to look on the bright side. There are worse things than being single for a semester… for a school year…for the whole summer…. At least Alice can count on her best friends for support—in theory, anyway. Lately they haven’t been all that there-for-her. In fact, it seems like Pam and Liz are suddenly involved in intense, secret conversations whenever Alice is around. Single is starting to feel a whole lot like solo.
