✿lifestyle: job hunt✿

school is ending and summer is rapidly approaching. for some people this means 2 to 3 months of pure summer heat and sleeping in, while for others it means 2 to 3 months of employment needed. i don't know about you, but as a preteen i couldn't wait to start receiving my own cash. my grandparents always gave me money when i wanted to hang out with friends, but to me it was never enough. when i turned 15 i applied to work at white waters (apart of the 6flags family) for two reasons. (1) it was paid work. i started out making $5.85 per hour and ended the summer making $6.25 per hour because i handed in my report card and they give a little extra change for good grades. (2) they hire just about everyone who applies (once background check is passed). but that pay rate is only for first year employees in non-supervisory positions. i got paid every two weeks with unlimited overtime. i walked home with an average of $600 biweekly and at 15, that seemed like the world to me.

Cobb Works (seasonal for kids, permanent for adults):
-- in GA it's called Cobb Works, but in other states it varies. This program is typically for low-income families who are interested in work. They are really good at placing kids in good summer jobs such as: local recreation centers, daycare centers, YMCA, Girls, Inc. Adults are placed at more permanent jobs such as: banks, retail stores, etc. you will start out being paid by cobb works, but if the company decides to keep you they will then be in charge of your overall employment. they placed me with a local daycare and to date that is still one ov my favorite jobs ever.
-- Age - 14 and older.
-- Hours - part-time and full-time.
-- Pay - starts at minimum wage.

The Government:
US Geological Survey, The VA, Park Services, CDC just to name a few.

I worked for the government for 2.5 years in administration and really wasn't fond of it, but my pay check is what kept me there. i suggest you do something fun like hydrogoly, science, biology, earthquakes, etc. you'll be able to get outside more and travel with these jobs.
-- Age – starts at 17.
-- Hours – part-time, full-time and seasonal.
-- Pay – as low as $10 per hour and as high as $13 per hour for first year hires.
-- Misc. – for high school and college students (of any age), they have summer and holiday options to work and are flexible with your school schedule. not only is the pay good, but they offer some of the best health insurance. they'll send you on trips around the world (all expenses paid) and depending on where you work, you'll get a little dirty. discounts with badge just about anywhere you go!
MyLikes:

-- Hours - you decide your own.
-- Pay - is based on the amount of views or clicks via web.
-- Misc. - an easy way to not only earn cash but bring in a bigger audience. must have an account set up before beginning.

Yard Work, Pool Janitor, Dog sitting, and Babysitting:
