review // flat tummy tea

2:10 PM

i began my detox on 04/28. i thought it would be best if i began the tea after my period, since during that time of the month, my stomach is bloated to the point where it looks like i'm three months pregnant (no seriously, i look like i'm carrying a child...). as you can see the tea is loose leaf and it looks like they've updated their packaging (their tea use to come in clear ziplock bags).

activate tea:
  • speed your metabolism
  • reduce your bloating
  • suppress your appetite
  • charge your immune system
  • boost your energy
cleanse tea:
  • detoxify your system
  • reduce your bloating
  • decrease your water retention
  • cleanse your digestive system
the tea doesn't have a bad taste. surprisingly without sugar i can still stomach it down alone. the cleanse tea doesn't taste bad, but the smell i do not like. i purchased a "T" tea steeper a while back from tj maxx home goods, thinking back then i'd start drinking loose leaf tea. well, it wasn't until i got the flat tummy tea, that i actually began using it. i thought with it having super mini holes, none of the leaves would get in my cup, but as you can see below, that wasn't the case.

the tea isn't marketed as a weight loss tea, but a detox tea. so i wasn't expecting to loose a lot of weight.

 -- week one --

for the first week, i had a cup of the activate tea every morning and had the cleanse tea every second night before bed. i worked out twice the first week and i tried to have more water than soda or juice.

side effects: i don't know if anyone else experienced this, but i had headaches every time after i had a cup of either tea. the first morning i tried the tea, when i got to work i had a really bad headache to the point where i almost had to leave work. initially, i thought the headaches were due to stress, since during the time i was detoxing, my best friend was also in ICU. but no, even when i was in a good mood and had the tea on a full stomach, i still had a headache right after finishing the tea. on 05/01, i made sure to pay close attention to if i had a headache or not and i did, both with the activate and cleanse tea. out of the two, i felt really bad at night as soon as i finished the cleanse tea.

i saw very little results as far as my stomach going down in size, but i will say i had more energy and my appetite seem suppressed.

-- week two --

for the first week, i had a cup of the activate tea every morning and had the cleanse tea every second night before bed. during the second week, i had the cleanse tea every third night before bed.

the second week didn't go so well, more so because i lost my best friend. so i had missed three mornings drinking the activate tea. since the cleanse tea i had switched to every three nights, i managed to keep up with those. due to me missing mornings, i knew i'd be on the detox for a third week. i will say that during the first two weeks i felt more energized and wanting to eat less. i still didn't see any changes in the "flatness" of my stomach.

side effects: this week, i definitely didn't experience any headaches, which proves to me that my body just had to get use to the tea initially.

overall, i didn't have any changes in the flatness of the stomach. i did however, feel less bloated. and my energy was through the roof! i didn't feel exhausted during the middle of my work shift, as i usually felt. and as i mentioned, the appetite was suppressed. some days i could go almost an entire day with just snacking, so i had to make sure i ate although i wasn't feeling hungry.

def try to get a good steeper, because those little leaves will eventually end up in your cup. it got to the point where i would pour the tea into the pot of water and let it steep on simmer (if that makes sense). then i'd place a paper towel over my cup so only water would go inside.

for a 2 week pack, it lasted me over two weeks (even with using the correct measurements). mine lasted me 3 weeks. i think if i would've really cracked down on my diet and worked out more than 2-3 times a week, i would've had better results in my stomach area. i looked at other people's reviews and it was 50/50. some of them had flatter stomachs, while others (like myself) didn't. for $32, i don't think i'll be repurchasing this anytime soon.

let me know your thoughts. have your tried the flat tummy tea? is it going well for you?

i wasn't able to find a link to the exact tea steeper i have, but you can check out miss little piggy, string and ball & strawberry for some affordable options. all available on amazon.

  1. I've been on it for a week and I do not notice any difference. I messaged them on instagram and was told to follow their "tips" plus be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. The cleanse tea hasn't made me go to the bathroom. I've been told that's what it does. I've only noticed 1 day where I was actually less bloated and felt really good. I'm bloated a lot of the time so that was an improvement. I even drank more of the cleanse tea last night and...nothing. 😕
I exercise about 4 times a week and my diet has been pretty decent with acception to some sweets. I still get that craving. 😣 I'm starting the Fit girl challenge next week so HOPEFULLY I will see results after that. I bought the 4 week package because the price was good but most likely won't be buying any again. I have 3 more weeks so we'll see. 😒

    1. thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving feedback.
i didn't see really any results, which is why i didn't post a before and after picture. however, i did feel less bloated and energized in the first week or two drinking the tea. as far as the cleanse, it didn't make me go to the restroom. i went as i usually do.

the pictures of the people they post on the instagram look great, but i def didn't have the results of my stomach going down inches. and the tea is very expensive, which is another reason i won't be repurchasing.

let me know how it ends for you.
