this past week was amazing.
work went by smooth, completed homework with ease, celebrated my birthday a little bit each day, gave a guy my number for the first time in years (which i really didn't plan on making it a big deal, but he has text me a few times *shrugs*), cleaned my apartment (an ongoing challenge with me being a perfectionist), a spa day at the ulta salon & having birthday money deposited into my account.
then there was a little ignorance that occurred (can't have the good without the bad). it wasn't that dramatic, but still, people always have something to say. first, the guy who asked me for my number had to catch himself before saying that i speak white. we were talking about an area he grew up in, in atlanta & he said, "yeah. i can tell you're not from there because you speak *pause* well." it was like he had a bank of words in his brain & the one that wanted to come out was white, but he was smart enough to push it aside & say well.
then there was twitter, where a few times i tweeted something & a few people came out of no where with their two cents. like, was i talking to you? uh no. but i just ignored their comments. ignorant people love company.
at the end of the week, i still remained my usual self - happy.
oh! & i got my car back finally. sadity has a new paint job & her tail light is finally fixed. i cracked it about 2 years ago after running into my grandma's van while backing out. i wasn't paying attention. it was early morning & i was tired. but i know it's illegal to drive around like that, so i had to get it fixed eventually, or two years later. lol.
i am loving this blazer! i can't tell you how happy i am that i have found some affordable blazers with amazing quality. as i was shopping for blazers for my fall/winter wardrobe i told myself i wouldn't just buy any blazer i saw, but only colors i didn't already have & knew i would get a lot of wear out of them. blue (or navy blue rather) was one of the colors i was dying to have. yet i came across this electric blue blazer, which looks absolutely amazing against my skin. plus i got it for sale for $14! bargainista!
