travel | navassa ✿ day two

on sunday we went to myrtle beach as we always do while visiting navassa. it was pretty packed compared to other times we have came. this was ari's first time at the beach as well. the last time she was here, she was still in the womb as her mother splashed around in the ocean. so it was interesting to see how she would react with to waves. as soon as she saw the ocean she was ready to jump in, but as we got closer she began to realize the water was coming towards her, so she ran. eventually my grandad eased her way in by walking her along the shore showing her the water was not out to get her.
my cousin & i also got on the banana boat. it's been one of the beach activities i have been curious about for years. at myrtle beach it only cost $20 for a 20 minute ride. i asked my sister if she wanted to go, but she wasn't too sure about being on a float in the middle of the ocean, so she just laid back down & went to sleep.
we got on with 4 other people, which we didn't know that one of the guys made a bet with our jet ski driver. so once my cousin & i got on, there was no turning back. my grandmother & arianna waited patiently as we hopped on the boat. as soon as the driver took off water hit me smack dead in the face (note to self: never sit in the front). within minutes my hair came out its bun & my body was bouncing in mid air. i thought, oh my god, i'm about to fall into the ocean! i could hear the people behind us saying they were going to jump off just for the hell of it. then i heard them say that the driver wanted one of the guys to fall off & that he would drive crazy on purpose to do so. i was like, what the hell?! my cousin & i are on here. don't do something stupid with complete strangers on the float!
for the entire 20 minute ride i kept falling inside the boat & my right side took blows like no other. i just kept telling myself that i refuse to fall in the ocean. what if there are sharks? then the driver did a trick that made my cousin's entire side fall off. the driver thought the guy was on that side, but he actually switched seats with his girlfriend before the trick. so there was my cousin in the ocean just floating. the driver didn't even realize 3 people were missing, so the rest of us started shouting, "man down!" hell, i was panicking for my cousin, but he said he was fine, lol. as soon as the ride was over i was exhausted & my arms stung some. i was pretty much a rag doll being thrown around. i vow to never get on the banana boat again...

♡-- this was me after the ride. prior my hair was in a bun & i had eye make up on...yeah...see what i mean.
♡ -- once we got back from the beach, we took a nap (the beach wipes me out every time). then my grandad's niece had a big bbq & when i say big, i mean a LOT OF FOOD :)
♡ -- once we were stuffed, my cousin celebrated her birthday at king david's, a morrocan restaurant in myrtle beach.
